John Keells Group wins the 50th Mercantile Rugby 7s title
John Keells Group won the cup championship at the 50th Mercantile Rugby Sevens Tournament where they defeated 3DH International, 10-7 in the final played at the CR & FC grounds on 24th September 2022. Richard Dharmapala opened the score for the Blues, and the second half of the game was fiercely
contested as both sides toiled hard in the middle. However, a few yellow cards were shown to 3DH which allowed the Blues to dominate possession. Avishka Lee managed to scrape through to touch down in the dying minutes to snatch the win for the Blues.
