John Keells provides Reverse Osmosis Plants to address risks of Chronic Kidney Disease

John Keells Foundation unveiled two Reverse Osmosis Filtration systems commissioned in collaboration with the National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB), Anuradhapura in Horowpothana and Galenbinduniwewa. This is part of a master plan by NWSDB to provide access to good quality water for drinking and cooking purposes in areas known to be at risk of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD).

The two Reverse Osmosis Filtration systems were opened on 19th July 2018 in the presence of officials representing NWSDB including the Chief Engineer, Tharanga Senevirathna; representatives of the John Keells Group led by Ms. Nadija Tambiah, Head of CSR, Devanshi Fernando, Assistant Manager- Projects, John Keells Foundation and members of the respective communities.

Water and sanitation has been a key development priority in many community interventions undertaken by John Keells under our CSR vision ‘Empowering the Nation for Tomorrow’. This initiative which is in line with John Keells Foundation’s focus area of health, is aimed at creating productive and healthy societies.
