Launched in January 1996, LMD’s Sri Lankan of the Year has been an annual feature ever since. Nominees have included Lakshman Kadirgamar (1995), Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe (2002), Dr. Hans Wijayasuriya (2008), President Mahinda Rajapaksa (2009), and Kumar Sangakkara (2011)
December 12, 2013 Mr. Hiran Hewavisenti – Managing Director LMD, presented the award for LMD’s Sri Lankan of the Year to Mr. Susantha Ratnayake.
