Volunteer Recognition Day 2017!

John Keells Foundation’s Volunteer Recognition Day for the year 2016/17 was held the Earls Court, Cinnamon Lakeside, Colombo yesterday (June 12th, 2017) with members of the GEC, GOC and staff volunteers in attendance.

Executive Director and Chairman designate Mr. Krishan Balendra speaking at the event said that John Keells Group’s commitment to CSR and Sustainability are as important growth in revenues and profitability and is an aspect valued and recognized by shareholders, investors and all other stakeholders. Krishan also asked the volunteers present at the event to encourage their colleagues also to participate in future volunteer opportunities.

Ms. Carmeline Jayasuriya, Head of Operations CSR welcomed the gathering and presented the Volunteer activities of the last financial year and also introduced the new categories for volunteer recognition (Merit, Gold, Silver, and Platinum) which is based on volunteer engagement and input to projects, volunteer hours etc.

Deputy Chairman Mr. Ajit Gunewardene, Executive Directors Mr. Krishan Balendra & Mr. Gihan Cooray and Ms. Dilan Alagaratnam President Legal, HR, CSR, Sustainability and ERM, presented the awards and certificates, assisted by Devanshi Fernando, Tashya De Silva and Saranga Kalugalage of the John Keells Foundation.

The event was compered by JKHMT Russel Valentine and photographs were taken by Niroshan Perera of JMLS, whose efforts were recognized in the vote of thanks by Tashya De Silva.
